Good morning is Spring or Autumn with you yet ? I feel the seasons are slow to change this year, one step forward and one step back or am I just more impatient ? A bit of both I think….
These lilacs sum up my feelings on Spring, glorious, uncertain, full of fragrance and over all too quickly..
I’m currently following prompts from Liz Lamoreux on her Hand to Heart Facebook page. This month the prompts are Prompts of Everyday Beauty and today’s prompt is ‘Your own Backyard’ so all the images today are from my garden or the sunroom in my garden… If you want to check out Liz’s website it’s HERE
I’ve created this post on my iPad mini using photographs taken on my iPhone as an experiment today.

Hello Texture Tuesday. i’m so glad I took some blossom photos yesterday because today the weather forecast is not good. As photographers how often do you check the weather forecast before you grab your camera ? I’d love to know….
Over in The Studio Online Kim’s prompt is potting sheds, the greenhouse needs a good clean so many cobwebs ! So I took my potting shed into the garden.
Some of the flowers were taken from the grass, the lilac from the fence…
I have created a new soft preset called berrily blue, It’s one of Kim’s that I have tweaked…
The little jar is a tealight holder but it works well as a vase…
I love hearts and the paper was part of a little packet that contained a wedding invitation, more about that in June….
Finally a layout.

Yesterday (Thursday) Mark and I visited Leigh Woods just outside Bristol. besides being a wonderful place to take a woodland walk it is playing host to an art installation project by Luke Jerram called “Withdrawn’. I talked about it on the podcast “Pull up a Chair’ that Jessica, Helen and I are hosting on iTunes check it out HERE
Five fishing boats hide in the woods, how did they get here ? Why are they here ? Luke Jerram has used this project to ask questions about over fishing and marine conservation.
First you walk through the woods.
The National Trust, a charity that exists through public donation and membership fees maintains and conserves large areas of coastline, woodland, forests and houses. They are responsible for the upkeep of Leigh Woods.
The trees are magnificent
The weather was perfect a bit chilly with dappled light.
I had my usual photography buddy with me.
Through the trees something could be seen ….
Events are taking place at night with lights and music. And choirs are performing from local schools.
Some lovely grunge…

Recently my blogging has eased, I find that I am communicating more and more on Facebook in private groups. Also some new apps are piquing my interest Steller and Storehouse in particular. I don’t know if I will give up blogging completely but check me out on Steller HERE and Storehouse HERE.
Anyway back to today. Do you have traditions ? Most people do. We have a tradition, every Easter Monday we walk up to our local park and watch the morris dancers herald in Spring.
We have been doing this for about the last 30 years, sometimes the weather is cold, windy and wet, but this year it was perfect. They process through the park playing whistle, drum and melodeon….
The tunes are catchy I find I’m humming them for the rest of the day…
You have to be fit…
The ladies get to do it to.
And when they finish in the park they tour some of the local villages dancing in the pub car park or village square.
Spring is really here…..
Prompts for 16th March were for shadow play, I know this isn’t quite what Kim planned for me to do but hey, I went with the flow and this is what I came up with…Both photos were taken with my iPhone 5s.
Taken late afternoon when the shadows were lengthening, giving the image a vintage look.
Processed in Lightroom, preset Softness of Time. Taken into Photoshop and a chalkboard texture added from FrenchKiss. I then added an overlay from Anna Aspnes AASPN_Capture.
A lighter image taken in full sun earlier in the day.

Have a great weekend…
Well here I am in the big city or, ‘up the smoke’ as my east London relatives would say….
Every where you look there is an icon, Big Ben or St Stephen’s Tower to give it it’s proper title is almost the symbol of London. I was sitting on the Southbank having a morning Starbucks when it sounded 9 o’clock this morning, what a majestic sound.
Texture by Kim (magic script)
In Trafalgar Square there is a temporary installation on the fourth plinth there is an explanation HERE if you are interested.

This week Mark and I travelled to Salisbury to visit Barbara my groupie friend who has moved to this historic and wonderful cathedral city. To quote Bill Bryson.:
“There is no doubt in my mind that Salisbury Cathedral is the single most beautiful structure in England and the close around it the most beautiful space. Every stone, every wall, every shrub, is just right.“
~ Notes from a Small Island
There I found –
Have a wonderful weekend. Mark and I are off to London for a few days so weather permitting I will be out hunting with my camera….
