She moved through the waves of people oblivious to the noise and bustle. On she went regardless of the cold, she moved restlessly on and on. She was looking but she did not know what for. A man, a child, a brother ? On the move all the time could she stop ? She seemed incapable of thought. People seeing her stricken face tried to grab a sleeve curious to know what was wrong , they inquired saying “can I help you ?” But she rushed past her eyes darting from side to see, her breath coming in pants. She reached the bridge over the river that encompassed the town, beyond lay the unknown she had never ventured that far without an escort. At the river’s edge she sat down, she looked over her shoulder and saw that she had left the people behind. peace fell upon her as she caught her breath, once she crossed the bridge she could move amongst strangers, she could be safe….
I’m startting a writing challenge but instead of joining in one of the official links I have decided to go it alone.

My intention is to write in the evening ……. I am going to try to follow the prompts as much as possible as it gives me some structure.
Hello everyone, I couldn’t resist TT, we have had such lovely weather and the trees in the park are dropping their leaves. So I did a little tinkering in LR (of course) and came up with this….
How is Autumn in your part of the world ?
Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible…..
I’m taking a little blogging break whilst I catch up on all the other classes new and old that I haven’t finished. Plus this designing a website is obsessing me !
I’ll just leave you with one of my journal type scrapping pages.
A series of photos based around home
And I’m loving the new project life app by Becky Higgins such fun….
Until next time……
I had a fantastic walk through the park on Monday morning I had my trusty little Lumix with me ( would it be sad to give it a name?). I was struck by the light and the faint mist rising over the grass. It was magical. Quiet, a few children on their way to school, commuters cycling and a few seagulls trying to find a tasty morsel.
This is my favourite time of year crisp cold mornings followed by warm, mellow afternoons.

This week has been a week of distraction. I’m still not happy with my blog, it’s not WordPress I love WordPress but I want more control. I want to choose my own fonts, colours and plugins. Also I love tweaking and playing. So Mark and I are embarking on the challenge of developing our own website using WordPress.org. I hope to document my adventure in blogging my way.
First research, Mark and I were pleasantly surprised to see a good number of new books in the library.
The Blogging for Creatives is my own copy and I do like it.
I have had a major think about my camera. Because of my Fibromyalgia I find carrying a largish, heavy camera painful. So I made the decision to buy a super zoom camera that is also so compact. I can shoot in RAW, it has a brilliant zoom and so light and easy to carry. One of the new features is that I can transfer images wirelessly from camera to iPad. Check it out HERE I used it in London and was very pleased with the results. I can still use the Nikon for still like on a tripod but the compact is pretty good at that too.

A photo shoot inspired by Kim’s BeStill class. The prompt was organic. A lot of my images tend towards the earthy, organic look and I had a lot of fun . My wooden background, linen napkin and some crunchy leaves. I think my little camera did well.

Hope your weekend is full of crisp mornings and blue skies……
“It’s a bizarre but wonderful feeling, to arrive dead center of a target you didn’t even know you were aiming for.”
― Lois McMaster Bujold
I have a foot in both camps. I love soft and dreamy still life, but equally love the gritty, high drama of the everyday. So here are a few of this weeks offerings.
Mark and I took another trip to London this time to The National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, out of all the photos I took this one really spoke to me. A ray of light hitting some carving in the Painted Hall in The Royal Naval College.
Resting weary feet in the shade.
On my morning walk Autumn is coming….
Morning at the farmer’s market.
Playing with light…
Using my own Lightroom preset ‘chalk’
Hope your weekend is sunny….
We know that in September, we will wander through the warm winds of summer’s wreckage. We will welcome summer’s ghost.
As usual as soon as the school term begins we have a wonderful spell of warm dry weather. The mornings start with a bite, but before long out comes the sun. The wasps are gorging themselves on the fallen apples and the trees are beginning to turn.

This is not going to be a good year for our apple tree. But luckily my neighbour has a glut so if I need any all I have to do is walk next door. Mark is relieved, less windfalls to pick before he can mow.
Don’t you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address.

Hello September, goodbye August. I love this time of year, crisp mornings, blue skies the sun getting low earlier, which makes for some great photography. Here at Little Orchard I’ve been playing with the print module in Lightroom and creating pictures of a still real life.
Light is a problem in the house, we do have a unheated sunroom which I use when it is warm but I’m scratching my head when it comes to the colder months. I may do a series called catching the light .
Do you have problems with light ? If so do you have tips ? I would love to hear them….
