“Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending”. ~ Carl Bard
A heart filled with anger has no room for love. ~Joan Lunden
You need to let the little things that would ordinarily bore you suddenly thrill you ~Andy Warhol
Meanwhile, spring came, and with it the outpourings of Nature. The hills were soon splashed with wild flowers; the grass became an altogether new and richer shade of green; and the air became scented with fresh and surprising smells — of jasmine, honeysuckle, and lavender. ~Dalai Lama XIV
The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you. ~B. B. King
The world is quiet here. ~Lemony Snicket
“Hark, now hear the sailors cry / smell the sea, and feel the sky / let your soul & spirit fly, into the mystic.” ~ ~ Van Morrison
Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate. ~John F Kennedy
These last few days have been traumatic. No not physically no, traumatic nationally. My conception of my country and the people that are supposed to govern have betrayed me. Because of a divisive and politically cynical campaign my country, my concept of European cooperation has been swept away. Already we have politicians blaming each other, a group of politicians are taking back everything they campaigned on. The financial repercussions are immense and already racism is rearing it’s angry head.
My art is comforting me so much, the taking of the image, the composition and the processing.
You can’t stay in your corner of the forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes. ~ A.A. Milne
Just being able to take images of the everyday will help.
One bad chapter doesn’t mean your story’s over.~ Unknown
Playing with some composition helps.
I’m not burying my head in the sand. Just trying to find some sense and shutting that part of my brain off today.

When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.
~ Lao Tzu
This morning I opened at random a little book called ‘High Hopes 170 Ways to Lift the Spirits in the hope of finding a good quote for my Instagram feed and I came across
Who are you ?
So I asked myself the question, daughter, mother, wife, friend, homemaker? But there is more, we often neglect the other side of ourselves.
How about artist, creative, photographer, writer ? And what might I become ?
It’s never to late to know ourselves, we are always changing
In 2016 I want to see what I can become, artist, creative, writer and photographer. I know it will be a gradual process.
How about you ? will you join me ?
Good morning is Spring or Autumn with you yet ? I feel the seasons are slow to change this year, one step forward and one step back or am I just more impatient ? A bit of both I think….
These lilacs sum up my feelings on Spring, glorious, uncertain, full of fragrance and over all too quickly..
I’m currently following prompts from Liz Lamoreux on her Hand to Heart Facebook page. This month the prompts are Prompts of Everyday Beauty and today’s prompt is ‘Your own Backyard’ so all the images today are from my garden or the sunroom in my garden… If you want to check out Liz’s website it’s HERE
I’ve created this post on my iPad mini using photographs taken on my iPhone as an experiment today.
The quote is from Julia Child. Apps used Typic, Project Life app, Over and Rhonna Designs.
What I’m listening to – Keb Mo -Every Morning – from the album “Keb Mo” listen to it HERE
Instead of finding balance this week I have totally lost it, in fact I may change my word to MINDFUL. And the reason why, is that I am like a butterfly, flicking backwards and forwards never stopping on anything. I have two favourite types of creativity, digital art and manipulation and contemplative photography but this week I have been doing some hands on fabric work. My head is buzzing. I’m going to write down what I want to achieve rather than ‘faffing about’ and not getting anything finished.
I found a great quote this week.
‘Simple in actions and in thoughts, you return to the source of being.’
– Tao Te Ching
Simple is good
Treasures, fabric art and journaling….
Now where is that list ?……
Do you have more than one hobby I’d love to hear what they are ?

Supplies by Captivated Visions, Rosey Posey and Nancie Rowe Janitz.
More thoughts on my one word for the year. But also my mantra .
BALANCE ****** Work, Exercise, Play.
NURTURE ******** Read, Research, Write, Meditate.
GROW ********** Bolder, Experiment, Find Adventure.
As the year draws to a close I’m gathering some ideas ready for 2015. Once again I am thinking of a word that will help and guide me through my 60th year. As usual I find this so difficult mainly because I need more than one !!
I have shortlist it’s longer than usual . I’m reading Mindfulness by Prof. Mark Williams and I want to include this into my choice of word.
Balance —–Mental or emotional stability:the way to some kind of peace and personal balance
Healing —– The process of making or becoming sound or healthy again:the gift of healing
Seek ———- Attempt or desire to obtain or achieve (something)
Deliberate —- Careful and unhurried:
Commit ——– Pledge or bind (a person or an organization) to a certain course or policy:
Have you thought of a word ?
“The very least you can do in your life is figure out what you hope for. And the most you can do is live inside that hope. Not admire it from a distance but live right in it, under its roof.”
― Barbara Kingsolver, Animal Dreams
What I’m listening to :- Fleet Foxes – Fleet Foxes. I particularly love ‘White Winter Hymnal’
I’m looking at abstracts and textures at the moment, it’s something I have become more interested in. To me this image represents my feelings at the moment. some light but lots of dark, sometimes I have a light bulb moment then almost a dive back into the dark.
I find this time of year as the dark comes early I hibernate, this year I must fill my world with more light.
I manipulated the image in Snapseed and Lightroom then textured in Photoshop.
Taken in my little studio early morning with my iPhone .
How do you cope with dark days ?
Finally here is my latest scrap page I decided to go retro !

“To write something you have to risk making a fool of yourself.”
― Anne Rice
I’m in a reflective mood at the moment, looking back and forwards. What I have done and what I really want to do. I find it difficult baring my soul but as I am nearing my 60th birthday some plans and choices have to be made.
