I think we’ve been so successfully seduced by the technology and technique – the HOW – that we’ve forgotten our vision or intent – the WHY. We didn’t mean to, of course we didn’t. But if the art of photography lies where craft and vision converge, then it’s probably because we’ve all been so caught up in the maddening learning curve of the craft that we’ve neglected the vision. Oh my goodness this is me, technology and a head full of ‘stuff’. Bits from classes, a bit here a bit there. I’m going back to basics a sort of downsize. I have my wonderful new camera. all the hardware and software I could possibly need. So back to basics using IG, my blog and of course Facebook. Lets see how I do.

Hello Texture Tuesday. i’m so glad I took some blossom photos yesterday because today the weather forecast is not good. As photographers how often do you check the weather forecast before you grab your camera ? I’d love to know….
Over in The Studio Online Kim’s prompt is potting sheds, the greenhouse needs a good clean so many cobwebs ! So I took my potting shed into the garden.
Some of the flowers were taken from the grass, the lilac from the fence…
I have created a new soft preset called berrily blue, It’s one of Kim’s that I have tweaked…
The little jar is a tealight holder but it works well as a vase…
I love hearts and the paper was part of a little packet that contained a wedding invitation, more about that in June….
Finally a layout.
Supplies by Anna Aspnes, Breakaway and Spring Showers.
I hope the sun shines where you are today…..
I’ve been creating more layouts to add to my 60th year folder. It’s growing and I will have quite a collection to choose from.
This first one was inspired by the fantastic bobbins Caz sent me from America. I have been using Anna Aspnes supplies a lot, I find her style suits me, I love the water colour effect I can get using her masks and brushes. All her supplies come with shadows and I like the natural effect it creates.
I would advise starting off with one kit and use it until you learn what you like. Check out her website HERE.
Brushes can be altered by clipping and blending and by lowering the opacity. Then it’s just a matter of playing with the elements until you are happy.
Here are a few tips if you want to start digital scrapping. I used Anna Aspnes’ palette ‘Story’ see it HERE
I hope this helps, if you want some advice or help you can always contact me by sending me an email.

Have a sunny weekend…….
Well here I am in the big city or, ‘up the smoke’ as my east London relatives would say….
Every where you look there is an icon, Big Ben or St Stephen’s Tower to give it it’s proper title is almost the symbol of London. I was sitting on the Southbank having a morning Starbucks when it sounded 9 o’clock this morning, what a majestic sound.
