“A good river is nature’s life work in song.”
~ Mark Helprin
Create with love, honesty and gratitude.
After reading Brene Brown’s book The Gifts of Imperfection I am trying to practice gratitude to access joy. To notice those little things that make my life complete.
Using Kim’s preset autumncopper in Lightroom and a texture (test kitchen June collection ‘dive’)
- ‘They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
- Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
- At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
- We will remember them’.
- The “Ode of Remembrance” is an ode taken from Laurence Binyon‘s poem, “For the Fallen“, which was first published in The Times in September 1914.
Here are my random five this week,
This month I’m following Cathy Zielske’s prompt of documenting 30 days of thankful. November seems to be the perfect month for this, it’s Thanksgiving for my American friends, and It’s the month of remembering and being grateful, for those that have died in all wars, so we can have freedom. In the UK we wear poppies to remember and this culminates on the nearest Sunday to the 11th of November where members of the Royal Family, the Prime Minister and leaders of all political parties take part in the National Service of Remembrance. It it so poignant seeing the poppy wreaths being laid at the Cenotaph and watching, as old and not so old soldiers and ex soldiers march and in a lot of cases are wheeled past, so proud remembering old comrades. In cities, towns and villages services are held and wreaths are laid at war memorials.
So I have picked 5 of my layouts as my random five.
As you can see various different styles thats what makes it so much fun……
And my find well, remembering to thank and be mindful of all those including one great uncle and many great cousins who died in the Great War….

Have a peaceful weekend….
Just a quick post today just popping in with my Friday Find.
My find is my mantra a sentence to use when I’m feeling as if I am in quicksand , when my gremlins are telling me one thing and my heart is striving to tell me something else. In Brene Brown’s course this week during the question and answer session she said a sentence that pierced me.
This is me all my life so now I am giving myself permission to leave that all behind me, to move on.
I’m also starting 30 Days of Thankful led by Cathy Zielske you can find the link HERE
. I know that this is a busy time of the year but I am using this as part of my heart work. For the next 30 days I am going to post each layout on my blog and at the end of November I hope to create a HeartBook.
Here is Day 1
It includes my mantra, supplies by Cathy Zielske, Ali Edwards and Julie Mead
