As the year draws to a close I’m gathering some ideas ready for 2015. Once again I am thinking of a word that will help and guide me through my 60th year. As usual I find this so difficult mainly because I need more than one !!
I have shortlist it’s longer than usual . I’m reading Mindfulness by Prof. Mark Williams and I want to include this into my choice of word.
Balance —–Mental or emotional stability:the way to some kind of peace and personal balance
Healing —– The process of making or becoming sound or healthy again:the gift of healing
Seek ———- Attempt or desire to obtain or achieve (something)
Deliberate —- Careful and unhurried:
Commit ——– Pledge or bind (a person or an organization) to a certain course or policy:
Have you thought of a word ?
I love seek, but that is the adventurer in me.

Beautiful b/w image, yes I have my word but I also agree with you need more than one. That is ok with me as I have one but also have included the second one also that connects to my main word. I am busy compiling what I want my 2015 to be and for me to work on but a good head start now that I have my word.

It’s funny how words work. I had chosen one, but felt uncomfortable with it — it didn’t seem quite right. A friend and I were talking about it and she mentioned another word that means the same thing, but somehow it “clicked” and felt just right. Words can be complex and subtle! I hope you find just the right one(s) to inspire you through the year to come.

Such a nice simple post today, and I love all of your words Viv! “Balance” is a word I incorporated into my life a number of years ago after experiencing an out of balance life, that was very pleasant. It is one of those “mindful” things I have to be conscious of. Good for you for adding it to your list, going into 60 years! A word hasn’t come to me yet as I have not focused on it, but I need to. Wishing you a lovely day!

VERY interesting post! Actually, my word was pursue last year…and I’m not ready to let go of it. Have you ever kept a word around more than a year? I love doing a reflection post at the end of the year… You have inspired me!

I LOVE the word balance. That’s exactly what I need in my life right now and it may take a full year to accomplish even a small amount of balance!
Some thoughts: I’m not sure there should be a rule for just one word. Why not two words or even a phrase or why couldn’t we choose a quote that speaks to us and run with it? Make our own rules to fit our own lives so we’re comfortable with it and may follow through.
Comfort, now there’s a word! I could use a little of that in my life too……..comfortably-balanced!
Sorry, didn’t mean to write a post! But your post got me thinking!
