What I’m listening to Steeleye Span – Gaudete a wonderful piece of music for the Christmas period
I’m currently following a mindfulness programme. The idea of having a mind with too many windows open like a computer really resounds with me. You fill up your mind with so many open pages that your mind seizes up, all the old anxieties and memories rise to the surface and you become exhausted and stressed.

Even though I don’t work and spend a fairly solitary life I can still feel myself stressed full of emotion and worry. So I’m going to try to declutter my mind, close off some of those windows that should have been deleted years ago.
I’m going to be starting a series of journal pages documenting this on my blog, I hope you will visit and check them out.
To all my American friends have a wonderful, happy and peaceful Thanksgiving.
Your images are simply stunning today! I love the wabi sabi yumminess of the first one, the bright leaf in the second one, and your layout … fab. I look forward to reading about how you de-clutter and delete …

What I want to know is why we clutter hour minds so, maybe it is because we are really good people and really good people do that. Anyway that is how I want to see it? I am doing the same thing and it is hard to do but keep trying. Your image of the leaves is outstanding love all of your images today as always. Love that quote on your scrapbooking page you do the best journaling.

I so love your first image for today. I am on a quest this week to spend some quiet and peaceful time -and your photo is the perfect inspiration. I can relate to your words in every way. I find myself in a quandary over how to help myself live mindfully – too much time at the computer totally zaps my day and I do not get to those things that are most important – even if those things are a nap, a cup of tea, or a good read. A work in progress . . .

Your words are along the same line as I’ve been thinking lately…I’m closing down several windows, and heading off to “live life as I imagined after retirement”. I will look forward to your continued thoughts along this path as well. The quote is a great one for mindfulness. Have a lovely week Viv!!

that key to your heart is amazing…and will do the trick of freeing up room for new thoughts and emotions to be unlocked and stored

Oh how wonderful the first image is! I know what you mean about closing windows left open too long…I need to do just the same, but am often overwhelmed by inertia…

You seem to speak for many of us with that sentence starting ‘You fill up your mind….’ It sums up exactly how I’ve been feeling for the last few months.
You always inspire me Viv….with your words as well as your art.

Beautiful images! And what you say resonates so much with me. I actually handled stress far better when I was working. Now I find that I put pressure on myself with self-imposed, impossible to meet daily agendas. I was getting better for a while but now I can feel that stress churning again. And it has nothing to do with the holidays. It’s too many windows open, as you’ve said. I look forward to sharing your journey.

Thank you for the musical link. That was new to me…both the group and the song…just the sort of thing I love. I am working on decluttering both my self and my home, but it is a difficult and ongoing process. It often seems like two things come in for every one that goes out. I am looking forward to following your mindfulness journey.

Your images are beautiful, I love the simplicity of the first and the sharp details and colors in the leaf photo. You said it perfectly, too many windows open can create so much stress popping from one thing to another. Is there a manual that tells us how to close some of those windows? If you find the manual let me know. 🙂

You’ve touched our hearts today with your words and pictures…..the picture of too may windows open in my mind is a great analogy and I can so relate. The windows causing stress seem to work their way to the front so much quicker than the ones of thanksgiving and praise. I look forward to your next post on this issue….
Viv, I can tell you are a woman of deep insight and I want you to know I appreciate reading the wisdom you share on your blog…
