Looking back over my shots for May I am surprised by the number that are still life. A year ago there would have been a lot less. Certainly I am taking far more photographs, but I am using my images to tell a story and of course you can control your surroundings more if you are in charge of the subject. I take immense time to create a still life and feel that creative contemplative photographs are now my goal.

For me using the images to tell a story is vital! Love the shot with the old camera.

Beautiful photos, especially the white peonies. I'm looking forward to learning more about still life through Kim's class over this next year.

Such beautiful images shared here…..all three have such meaningful quotes too. The subtle tones of the peonies are especially lovely. I hope you continue to do still lifes.

Great photos. My favorite is the one with the Maya Angelou quote. Seems so perfect for Ms. Angelou —a “quiet” photo just as she was for so many years. Yet, the photo and quote together make a powerful statement, as did her writing.I joined Photo Heart Connection for the first time today and connected to your blog from there.

Using images to tell a story is essential to me but -as you said- it´s much easier when you create and compose the image you want to capture. Such a fantastic goal: contemplativa creative photography and what a wonderful images this month. Love the first one very much and Maya Angelou quote is so true. Great photo-heart connection
