So at the moment I’m standing in two camps , photography and digital scrapping….
I’m being pulled because now writing is there as well. it is proving difficult as I’m not satisfied with anything, I thought it would be great to have all these different strings to my bow…
Soft and Romantic
Bold and Brilliant

Funky Art Journaling

Or Delicate and Dreamy

I know it should be possible to do it all but (sigh) I’m finding it difficult…

So this weekend I’m going to try to ‘find’ a way…..

Random Five

Next week we are going to our first photography show at the Birmingham NEC and I’m excited..

I’m listening to The English Monster by Lloyd Shepherd on talking book it’s about the Radcliffe Highway Murders that took place in London read about it HERE ….

We have had 2 days in a row with only a little rain !

Quote of the week  by Betty Friedan
“Aging is not ‘lost youth,’ but a new stage of opportunity and strength. It’s a different stage of life, and if you are going to pretend it’s youth, you are going to miss it. You are going to miss the surprises, the possibilities, and the evolution that we are just beginning to know about because there are no role models, no guideposts, and no signs”

Finally looking back to last Summer and wishing for some sun and music….

Have a great weekend….

  1. I feel your pain with the internal push and shove of which creative avenue to pursue. It seems like whatever I do at the moment is always the best. But the more I write, I feel that this might be IT. The photography must be there to support the story though, but the photos don't have to be perfect, just good enough.

  2. Hi Viv … so much to create and where to start and what to do?!! I spent the day yesterday crocheting … didn't touch a paint brush or a piece of paper. Your images are all lovely. Doesn't the sun feel good after the cold?! Enjoy the photography show. I always enjoy seeing what everyone is reading. Happy Friday!

  3. Hi Viv, I'm so happy that the rain has stopped somewhat. We're five fields away from the Thames in OXON and last week Robert got the car stuck at the top of the garden. It's been a bogfest! (But the house is safe.) My advise for your two camps thing you've got going on is to go with whatever yous feel like at the moment. I always hold the thought of no limits in my mind and usually find that when I slow down and meditate, the photos and art start to “feel” right to me and I go with that on that day and then switch it up next time. Hope your weekend is lovely and warm and sunny. 🙂

  4. Viv,Looks like you are enjoying the process of creating. Sometimes we need to let our creative side run free and see what happens. I see you are having fun experimenting.Your quote of the week is a good one.Think Spring!

  5. Boy do I understand! I let up on the scrapping last year and focused on the photos. This year I started scrapping a bit more and realized how much I missed it and intend to do more 'artsy' scrapping like art journalling. (tho I haven't done much) It's hard to choose a single path and part of that problem I think is our own expectations. The scary things that it will require like having an art show or promoting oneself. Mostly it's just comfortable to play at what ever tickles my fancy at the time and have no expectations.

  6. Hi Viv, My first time visiting your blog. Popping in from Nancy's Random five, then it's on to Kim's. Your post hits home with me too, just not enough time to do it all! I love all of the styles! You are very talented and just have to let your mood choose the course. Enjoy the moment and be proud of your gifts. Now where's your follow button!

  7. Wondering what decisions you'll come to! Your ability and creativity are evident in all your work; I'm not sure you'll have to choose one over the other as a permanent thing- just one phase at a time- or a combination. However you work it out, it will be your gift(s) to the universe. Love your art!

  8. Thanks for stopping by my blog. You really do seem to be combining many things quite beautifully so perhaps you just b=ned to decide where your main focus is going to be and let the other things complement that.

  9. Yes … how hard it is to do it all … but we keep trying, don't we? I find I must prioritize or the only thing I get is frustrated. Your work today is lovely and I love that Betty Friednan quote. We need to remember that … daily! Have a lovely weekend, Viv, and good luck 'doing it all'!

  10. Your photography and art journals are both lovely. I understand about being pulled in too many different directions. There are so many things I like and want to do it's hard to find the right balance to make it all happen. Love the quote by Friedan–it speaks to where I am right now.

  14. The idea of retiring, to me, meant having so much time to do all that I wanted to…and that happens, but I feel like you do. There are too many things I want to do, and still not enough time! Every thing you do is just gorgeous, and you are inspiring! Thank you for sharing your beautiful works!!
